DIY Champagne Bottle Costume

Updated: Feb 16

Level of difficulty: Easy

Not all sparkling wines can be called champagne, you can at least dress up as one for Halloween.

Here’s everything you need:

• Green satin dress for the body of the bottle

• Gold chef’s hat to serve as the foil cork

• Plastic bubbles in assorted sizes with slotted tabs on the side

• Clear fishing string

• Printed champagne label

Go online to find a label of your favorite brand of champagne, mine being Perrier Jouet (this is not a paid partnership).

Print two copies of the logo in different sizes so you have options when it comes to which size will photograph best: 8.5 x 11” and 11x17”. Cut out with scissors.

The only real assembly required is stringing together the bubbles. I tried chenille straws (fka pipe cleaner) which is the easiest to work with but because I didn’t have them in clear or white, it was all too visible on my neck so I switched to clear string. Wrap the string like a scarf around your neck and tie at the back.

Go put on your green dress and chef’s hat.

Lastly, gently tape the label to the front of the dress at waist-level.

The best accessory would be some cheese go with that wine!
