Going into the office three days a week is not, I repeat, not hybrid! 🗣️
At a time when people are struggling to find
work, I’m grateful to have a job. Universe, truly, please hear me when I say that I am, but at what cost? $20 to buy lunch (!) which doesn’t include chips and a drink. Served in plastic to boot, that’s what.
Here’s my cafeteria-bought meal with side salad. It was hot, fresh, and delicious but the price point added to the cost of weekly pumps at the gas station, is driving up my spending to unsustainable levels. Sure, I can bring my own lunches but some days I’m just not organized enough to make that happen. It’s not the same as a home cooked meal, anyway, where I would save so much on ingredients and have plenty left to make another meal. In a word , I’m trapped, because there was no cheaper option around as the average price for lunch is the same across the nearby spots.

Edited: Updated to show you the Mac n Cheese I got as a side putting my total at nearly $30.
